The V8 Supercar Champsionship Series has competition rounds in every state of Australia, and is the country's most popular motorsport. The championship also travels to New Zealand and Bahrain.
The highest level of racing domestically, the sport taps into that long held rivalry between Ford and Holden which every Australian takes a side in.
Currently, Ford is on top, thanks to Queenslander Jamie Whincup's dominant perfomance for Triple Eight Racing in 2008.
